Planting Advice

 

The Polanter is hung onto walls or fences with the brackets provided. The brackets remain fixed to the wall and the Polanter can be lifted off the brackets to enable it to be re-planted and then easily re-hung by slotting the Polanter back onto the brackets.
The planting holes for the Polanter measures approximately 4cm across and are ideal for planting plug plants. Remember to water your plants thoroughly before planting.

 

Planting Kit 1,

[single section tube, height 53cm with 12 planting holes plus planting space available at the top of the Polanter].
Assemble the Polanter whilst following the assembly instructions provided.
Add a small amount of gravel to the base of the Polanter. Icm or 2 cm of gravel is sufficient.
Next trowel some multi-purpose compost into the tube so that it reaches 1/3 of the way up the holes at the bottom of the Polanter.
Insert the plants into the bottom holes whilst ensuring that the main stem of the plant is in the centre of the planting holes.
Add more compost up to the next level of holes and gently firm down the compost as you add it.
Continue this planting process to the top for a Kit 1. Plants can be added to the top of the tube also.
For the first few days water gently to ensure that the soil is moist and to enable the plants to become established.
To water simply connect your hose to the hose connector on the base of the Polanter.  Leave connected until a few drops of water appear from the bottom of the Polanter and then disconnect your hose. Please note; Kit 1 can also be watered from above with a watering can if preferred.

Planting Kit 2,

[2 tube sections, height 97cm with 24 planting holes plus planting space available at the top of the Polanter].

Plant sections 1 as described above but stop 5cm from the top and insert the second tube and fix with the interlocking pips provided.
Secure the soaker hose onto the top of the second tube using the hose clip. Continue to plant upwards to the top of the second. Plants can be added to the top of the Polanter.
For the first few days water gently to ensure that the soil is moist and to enable the plants to become established.

Kits 3 and 4

Planting Kit 3, [height 141cm with 36 planting holes plus planting space available at the top of the Polanter] and
Kit 4,[ height 185cm with 48 planting holes plus planting space available at the top of the Polanter]
Continue to plant as described for Kit 2. Please note that the soaker hose is  always connected to the hose clip on the top final tube section.

Replanting your Polanter.

Allow the soil in your Polanter to dry out for a few days.
Turn the Polanter upside down and gently remove the soil from the tube using you fingers.
